Rick “Hurricane Slick” Creasey
Lead Guitar, Guitar Synthesizer, Vocals and Harmonica
It all started back when Rick was in grade school, around 4th grade, his father (a great musician and a great man) wanted him to play trumpet since his dad was an accomplish horn player. Well, little did Rick know that this undertaking of learning to play a trumpet would put him on the path of playing Guitar and Harmonica with the “Ransom Band”. During this time of learning to play the trumpet, his friends were trying to play drums, well; the idea of Rick beating the heck out of the drums did not set well with his parents. So his father, who also liked the sound of a guitar, influenced him into learning the guitar along with the trumpet. Just like Curt, Rick took his first guitar lessons from Jack Etherton's Music in Springfield Illinois and the rest is history.
Throughout the years, Rick played with many bands playing lead/rhythm guitar and was professionally trained to sing lead vocals and harmonies. About five years ago, Rick decided to expand his guitar playing by incorporating a Roland Guitar Synthesizer along with his expanding arsenal of Guitars and Amps. Rick can now add Piano, Strings and Horns (Saxophone and etc.) along with his Guitar playing. On stage, Rick likes to use his two customized American Fender Strats, his 1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom and his customized American Fender Tele and his Guitar collection keeps expanding.

Prior to joining Ransom, Rick has played in many bands, played with very good musicians during his lifetime. Some good and some not worth mentioning. Rick played with bands from the St Louis area when he was in college. After graduating from St. Louis University, Rick moved back home to Chatham, Illinois and has played with the Blue Harvest Band, Still Crazy Band, Mojo Jones Band, and the First Flick Band from the Litchfield area.

Rick plays music for fun…music is a form of therapy. He really enjoys playing for the enjoyment of himself and seeing the enjoyment in others that he plays for.
